The apostle Paul wrote to the Colossian believers that they should have “the word of Christ be at home in” their lives. In Colossians 3:16, Paul wrote, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” What place does the word of Christ have in your life? Is the Bible at home in your life?
The word dwell is best understood to mean “to be at home.” “Home is where I hang my hat,” someone once said. Home is where I belong, where I am comfortable. To be at home is to be in a place where I am accepted and appreciated. Is the word of God accepted and appreciated in your life?
Does the word of Christ dwell in you richly? Does the Bible hold a prominent place in your life? Is it at home in you? Are you experiencing the richness, the wealth, of the word of Christ in your daily walk?
