What We Believe

Based on “The Apostles’ Creed”

We believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, and that it is “profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”- excerpt from 2 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV)

What is the Gospel?

A Description of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

The Gospel can be summarized in five words:

  1. Sin – Romans 3:23 – “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…”
  2. Death – Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  3. Love – Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
  4. Faith – Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
  5. Life – Romans 10:9-10: “…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
